Tank Issues

This has been an issue for over 20 years. Any of the cab and chassis trucks that use the metal square tank in the rear will experience this eventually.

Since the old 7.3 days the square metal tank has been de-laminating and rusting. The rust and lamination is sent through the fuel system. Now back In the 7.3 days it wasn’t that big of deal, can’t kill a 7.3 Power stroke. However, with the 6.0, 6.4 and 6.7 liter Power stroke, this can be deadly. If this makes its way past filters or causes fuel starvation from clogged filters, you could be spending thousands. I understand Ford isn’t responsible for what gets put into the tanks that might make it do this, like water or gas. I do think they are aware of the issues and should have swapped to full plastic tank with metal guards.

So, before you cost yourself thousands, if you’ve got this tank, swap it now. Let us keep you on the road! Call us today at 706.677.0060
